Summary
Menlo Innovations is a company focused on quality in software development, and they are seeking a Quality Advocate to ensure quality throughout the software development life cycle. The role involves exploratory testing, collaborating with team members to refine processes, and serving as a liaison between roles and clients to prioritize quality in project decisions.
Responsibilities
- Exploratory testing to ensure software solutions have been implemented completely, do not contain bugs, and fulfill end-user and client requirements
- Working with the other roles to decide when each feature is complete, and identifying key issues (such as performance problems, design gaps, and bugs)
- Identifying edge cases and working with the team (particularly Developers and High-Tech Anthropologists®) to determine those that need to be addressed
- Serving as a liaison between roles and clients to ensure they are considering quality and how their work fits into the overall architecture and that it supports the business model
- Helping clients and team members make informed trade-off decisions and being the voice for quality in those decisions
- Prioritizing tasks and projects in coordination with Project Managers to ensure client needs are met in a timely fashion
- Coaching and mentoring other personnel in subject areas in which you have knowledge
- Assisting Project Managers, High-tech Anthropologists®, Software Developers, and others with their project responsibilities
- Assisting the Menlo Factory Floor Manager with the operation of the Menlo Software Factory
- Assisting the Experience team with marketing activities
- Assisting the Menlo Factory Floor Manager with sales qualification and proposal activities
- Evaluating interim and finished systems
- Evaluating and providing feedback to other personnel
- Supporting Menlo’s relationships with its clients and personnel

- Able to retain what has been learned, and 'context switch' between multiple projects

- Commitment to work full time, in-person in Ann Arbor, MI (This is not a hybrid or remote work assignment)
