Summary
Microsoft is seeking a Building Automation Engineer to join its Building Automation Execution Team. The role oversees data center designs and vendors, leads Building Automation Systems reviews and approvals, and delivers secure, scalable, reliable, and efficient solutions across global engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Independently implement reliable, scalable, and high-performance solutions across teams; contribute to design documents, implementation plans, and maintain compliance standards
- Monitor and maintain security for Building Automation Systems by addressing vulnerabilities, troubleshooting incidents, implementing fixes, and driving adoption of automation to mitigate risks
- Adhere to and promote prescriptive guidance for security, privacy, and compliance standards; work cross-functionally to resolve relevant issues and share expertise with peers
- Respond to incidents, including complex, high-impact events; drive root cause analysis, incident resolution, and continuous improvement; provide incident response support and guidance
- Take ownership of service design and technical configurations for optimal cost, reliability, and scalability, collaborating to identify efficiencies and share learnings across engineering teams
Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field AND 3+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, service engineering, systems engineering, or industrial controls
- OR Equivalent experience
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role
- Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology related field AND 6+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, service engineering, systems engineering, or industrial controls
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology related field AND 8+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, service engineering, systems engineering, or industrial controls
- OR equivalent experience
- 5+ years technical experience working with large-scale cloud or distributed systems
Qualifications
