Job description

Summary

Midwest Aerospace Casting is seeking an Engineering Co-op to work alongside experienced engineering professionals in the sand casting industry. This role offers hands-on experience and exposure to manufacturing processes while contributing to engineering projects.

Responsibilities

  • Support manufacturing operations through process control and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Assist with product and process development projects focused on improving quality, reducing costs, and increasing operational efficiency
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot manufacturing challenges and implement effective solutions
  • Collect and analyze production data to identify trends and recommend process improvements
  • Prepare technical documentation, update work instructions, and contribute to engineering reports and project documentation
  • Learn and apply industry standards, quality systems, and best practices related to sand casting and manufacturing processes
  • Participate in cross-functional projects that support operational excellence and continuous improvement

Skills

  • Must be pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or another related field
  • Must have a minimum of 12 semester hours in core degree course work
  • Individual should be a rising sophomore (at minimum) when co-op begins
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship now or at any point in the future
