Job description

Summary

Nakupuna Companies is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to support NAVSUP Business Systems Center. The role advances enterprise data cataloging, metadata management, data lineage, governance, and data-quality capabilities by profiling datasets, validating metadata and lineage, developing test cases and reports, and supporting monitoring and knowledge transfer.

Responsibilities

  • Support configuration and use of Informatica and Mulesoft Enterprise Data Catalog, Axon Data Governance, and Data Quality in pre-production and production environments
  • Profile prioritized datasets and develop data-quality rules, scorecards, thresholds, baselines, and measurable improvement reporting
  • Analyze data-quality issues, document root causes and remediation actions, support retesting, and track findings through closure in Azure DevOps
  • Support automated metadata harvesting and scheduled scans across ETL applications
  • Validate end-to-end data lineage, metadata completeness, source-to-target relationships, and Axon-to-Enterprise Data Catalog linkages
  • Develop and maintain business glossaries, data domains, classifications, stewardship workflows, and links between business terms and technical assets
  • Work with data owners and stewards to define governance policies, access expectations, quality measures, and acceptance criteria for NAVSUP use cases
  • Develop and execute functional, integration, regression, and user-acceptance test cases; validate and reconcile data exchanged through APIs and other integration processes; capture scripts, datasets, screenshots, logs, and results for auditability; and support preparation of API and Data Quality Validation Reports
  • Create data-quality and governance dashboards or reports and integrate relevant metrics into ongoing monitoring and status reporting
  • Maintain procedures, training materials, wiki content, configuration records, and knowledge-transfer materials throughout the period of performance
  • Participate in Agile planning, sprint reviews, weekly work-item updates, stakeholder sessions, demonstrations, and post-installation support
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Skills

  • Agile - Breaks data-governance and data-quality work into testable tasks with clear acceptance criteria; keeps findings, remediation actions, evidence, and status current in Azure DevOps
  • Analytical / Problem Solving - Profiles data, finds patterns and root causes, and defines measurable quality baselines and thresholds; connects business definitions, ownership, lineage, technical assets, and data-quality rules
  • Communication - Works comfortably with data owners, stewards, analysts, engineers, and Government stakeholders; explains data-quality and lineage findings in plain language without losing technical accuracy
  • Quality - Produces complete and repeatable test evidence, scorecards, metadata records, glossary entries, and remediation documentation; checks that catalog permissions, lineage, glossary links, and quality rules work end to end
  • Teamwork / Coaching -Supports demonstrations, training, workshops, and practical knowledge transfer; seeks input early when definitions, ownership, or acceptance criteria are unclear
  • 3-5 years of Power BI experience
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience with data profiling, data-quality rules, metadata, data lineage, business glossaries, data catalogs, or enterprise data governance
  • Working knowledge of relational data, SQL, data warehouses, and ETL concepts
  • Ability to analyze data issues, define measurable quality criteria, document test evidence, and explain findings to technical and business stakeholders
  • Experience working with data owners, data stewards, analysts, developers, or system administrators to resolve data and metadata issues
  • Strong documentation, communication, testing, and organizational skills
  • Ability to learn and work in a specialized Informatica and NAVSUP technology environment rather than focusing only on dashboard development
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to complete the required Navy onboarding, background-investigation, CAC, SAAR, training, and NDA requirements
  • Current DoD 8140.03 IAT Level II baseline certification at the start of performance: CompTIA Security+ CE or a PWS-listed substitute (CCNA, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, or CND)
  • This position requires U.S. citizenship, CAC eligibility, and a final, favorably adjudicated T3 or equivalent investigation
  • This position requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain the favorable background investigation, CAC, SAAR, and system access required by NAVSUP
  • A bachelor's degree in data analytics, information systems, computer science, statistics, business, or a related field is preferred
  • Experience and working knowledge of Tableau, NDP, WDP, or Microsoft Power Apps desired
  • Relevant data governance, metadata, data-quality, or data-integration experience
  • Experience with Informatica Data Quality, Axon Data Governance, Enterprise Data Catalog, and PowerCenter
  • Experience with Yellowbrick, Oracle, Snowflake, or a comparable relational data warehouse
  • Experience with Python, automated testing, or API-based data validation
  • Familiarity with AWS GovCloud, role-based access control, PKI, or DoD data environments
  • Prior experience supporting Navy logistics, enterprise analytics, or Government data-governance initiatives
