You will lead the intake and due diligence efforts, ensuring each project is strategically sound, technically feasible, and set up for success before full production. You will mentor a team of producers, foster a culture of rigor and collaboration, and be a key voice in shaping Netflix’s future games slate, including innovative, non-traditional, and experimental projects that push the boundaries of play. You are the final escalation point for intake, due diligence, and greenlight in Early Stage Production, owning both the process and team outcomes.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Portfolio Intake<ul><li>Partner with Games Leadership, Business Development, General Managers, and cross-functional stakeholders to intake and prioritize new game concepts, including both traditional and non-traditional/innovative projects.</li><li>Own the early-stage production pipeline, ensuring all candidate projects are evaluated against Netflix’s portfolio strategy, brand, and audience needs.</li><li>Serve as the central point of contact for project status, documentation, and intake processes.</li></ul>Due Diligence &amp; Feasibility Leadership<ul><li>Architect and lead the due diligence process for all new projects (internal and external), ensuring rigorous assessment of team, technical, production, and design fit.</li><li>Oversee the development and execution of tailored due diligence frameworks for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd party projects.</li><li>Ensure cross-functional teams (including publishing, creative, technical, and external partners) are aligned on project scope, risks, and requirements.</li><li>Identify and escalate key risks, dependencies, and resource gaps early, driving proactive mitigation strategies.</li><li>Evaluate projects across a wide range of genres, development models (including co-development, external development, and outsourcing), and platforms, ensuring the right expertise and processes are in place for each.</li></ul>Greenlight Process Ownership<ul><li>Lead the preparation and delivery of Greenlight meeting materials, including comprehensive pitch decks, risk assessments, and due diligence reports.</li><li>Synthesize input from cross-functional teams into clear, actionable recommendations for leadership.</li><li>Ensure all projects, including those with experimental mechanics, innovative play styles, or non-traditional formats, have well-defined next steps, success criteria, and resource plans at Greenlight.</li></ul>Scope, Capacity &amp; Budget Oversight<ul><li>Guide teams in defining project scope, team composition, and resource requirements for early-stage projects, including those leveraging co-development, outsourcing, or novel production models.</li><li>Oversee budget creation, validation, and alignment with portfolio goals.</li><li>Ensure early-stage projects are scoped realistically for success and sustainability.</li></ul>Mentorship &amp; Team Leadership<ul><li>Mentor and guide a team of producers, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement in Early Stage Production.</li><li>Share best practices, learnings, and tools to elevate the quality and rigor of intake and due diligence across the team.</li></ul>Cross-Functional Partnership &amp; Evangelism<ul><li>Build and maintain strong relationships with creative, technical, production, publishing, and business leaders.</li><li>Champion the importance of Early Stage Production and due diligence across the organization.</li><li>Present updates, findings, and recommendations to a variety of audiences, providing visibility into the early-stage pipeline and upcoming opportunities.</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>10+ years of experience in video game production, with significant roles in both game development and publishing environments.</li><li>Deep, hands-on understanding of the full game production lifecycle from a development perspective, with expertise across multiple disciplines (design, engineering, art, audio, QA, release management).</li><li>Proven ability to assess and manage all areas of a game project, ensuring features and content are in scope, achievable, staffed appropriately, and scheduled with realistic timelines and budgets.</li><li>Demonstrated excellence in project management for full game development, including resource planning, milestone tracking, risk mitigation, and cross-functional alignment.</li><li>Experience working closely with publishing teams or directly within a publishing organization, with a strong grasp of publishing processes, requirements, and best practices.</li><li>Experience with a variety of development models, including co-development, external development, outsourcing, and multiple game genres/platforms.</li><li>Experience working with both internal and external development teams.</li><li>Track record of leading due diligence, Greenlight, and portfolio intake processes for multiple shipped products, including non-traditional or experimental games.</li><li>Expertise in risk assessment, feasibility analysis, and early-stage budget/scope planning.</li><li>Strong leadership and mentorship skills, with experience building and guiding high-performing teams.</li><li>Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities.</li><li>Strategic thinker with a strong understanding of portfolio management and alignment.</li><li>Ability to drive clarity, remove ambiguity, and ensure alignment across diverse teams.</li><li>Passion for gaming and deep knowledge of industry trends, emerging play styles, and innovation in game design.</li><li>Los Angeles preferred; remote OK.</li></ul>&nbsp;Generally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $220,000.00 - $320,000.00.Netflix provides comprehensive benefits including Health Plans, Mental Health support, a 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer match, Stock Option Program, Disability Programs, Health Savings and Flexible Spending Accounts, Family-forming benefits, and Life and Serious Injury Benefits. We also offer paid leave of absence programs. Full-time hourly employees accrue 35 days annually for paid time off to be used for vacation, holidays, and sick paid time off.
