Field Engineer 4

Summary

Netpace Inc is seeking a Field Engineer 4 to provide technical support and service for Dell PCs and Lexmark printers. The role involves responding to service requests, performing installations and repairs, and ensuring customer satisfaction while maintaining professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Respond to technical service requests in the area to install and service Dell PCs, Lexmark printers and PC peripherals and/or electronic equipment
• Takes service calls and performs incident specific activities such as replaceable unit swapping, image loading, and unit testing as directed by Help Desk, Service Desk or script
• May perform routine installs, moves, adds and changes as part of a directed team, including:
• Whole unit replacement
• Printer repairs
• Load software with a script
• Performs scripted image loading, unit diagnostics and replaceable unit swapping
• Simple troubleshooting by running basic diagnostics and performs basic module replacement on PCs, servers and peripherals
• Performs preventative maintenance activities on certain products as directed
• Maintains a high degree of professionalism in actions, demeanor and dress
• Insures customer satisfaction throughout

Skills

• U.S. Citizenship: Is this required by the end client? Yes
• High school diploma or GED required
• Background investigation and drug screen required
• CompTIA A+ certification required
• Specific additional vendor or manufacturers' certifications as required, i.e. EMC, Dell, Lexmark, Cisco, Microsoft, CompTIA Network+
• General knowledge of desktop hardware and software including basic knowledge of Microsoft applications
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair software and hardware issues to include PCs, printers and PC peripherals and/or electronic equipment
• Must have valid driver's license and reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance
• Basic mechanical skills and understanding of electro static discharge (ESD) procedures
• Ability to resolve basic / non-complex problems as directed
• Excellent communication skills required
• Client and/or governmental clearance may be required
• Must be available for after-hours on-call rotation
