<p>The Brain Interfaces Mechanical Engineering team is responsible for the mechanical and manufacturing systems related to our implant, microfabricated thin-film electrodes, wireless charger, and associated accessories. This includes product design, electronics packaging integration, manufacturing line and facility design, test infrastructure design, and related activities for these core products.</p>
<p><strong>Job Description and Responsibilities:</strong></p>
<p>As a Manufacturing Engineer at Neuralink, you will be responsible for the design, development, and optimization of manufacturing processes and hardware from the ground up. This will include maintaining and supporting existing products and processes, troubleshooting failures, implementing updates, and ensuring long-term reliability. You will focus on creating efficient, scalable systems for producing brain interfaces, emphasizing innovation and quality assurance. Note that that ideal candidate is a mechanical engineer who loves to focus on manufacturing. Responsibilities will include:</p>
<ul>
<li>Scoping projects and requirements, large and small, to hit aggressive project schedules and ensure timely completion from inception to implementation</li>
<li>Detailed designing of 3D CAD and 2D drawings with a heavy focus on DFX, and integration onto the manufacturing line</li>
<li>Rapid prototyping with existing technologies, and developing or sourcing expanded capabilities</li>
<li>Identifying key vendors and developing/maintaining relationships to expand our capabilities</li>
<li>Developing, maintaining, and executing test plans and electro-mechanical test systems for verification and validation of products ranging from components to sub-assemblies, full consumer electronics products, or production environments</li>
<li>Identifying and tackling manufacturing rate limiters and yield hitters</li>
<li>Working with data acquisition systems and control systems to continually improve in-test and in-process data recording and system useability</li>
<li>Providing insight into the design of tooling and equipment from development to full-volume production including poka-yoke, controls, and standardization of componentry</li>
<li>Developing requirements for, sourcing, and pitching major equipment purchases to expand manufacturing and test capabilities; becoming the subject matter expert for this equipment and training other engineers and technicians</li>
<li>Developing knowledge of and implementing compliance with relevant federal regulations (e.g., GxP, 21 CFR) as they pertain to medical device design and manufacturing</li>
<li>Writing and maintaining design and manufacturing documentation for internal reference and submission to regulatory bodies</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Required Qualifications: </strong><strong><br></strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience and ability</li>
<li>3+ years of mechanical engineering industry experience</li>
<li>Strong grasp of engineering's first principles</li>
<li>Experience with DFX, conventional machining, rapid prototyping technologies, and precision design + manufacturing&nbsp;</li>
<li>Proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks preferred)</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications: </strong><strong><br></strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Experience in the design and manufacturing of implantable electromechanical medical devices</li>
<li>Knowledge of ISO 13485, ISO 10993, 21 CFR, and related standards</li>
<li>Experience scaling complex low to mid-volume production lines</li>

<p>The anticipated base salary for this position is expected to be within the following range. Your actual base pay will be determined by your job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. We also believe in aligning our employees’ success with the company's long-term growth. As such, in addition to base salary, Neuralink offers equity compensation (in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSU)) for all full-time employees.</p></div><div>Base Salary Range:</div><div><span>$83,000</span><span>—</span><span>$139,000 USD</span></div></div></div><div><div>
