Summary
The State of Colorado's Governor's Office of Information Technology provides technology services and cybersecurity support for state agencies and residents. The Cyber Security Administrator secures IT environments, operationalizes cybersecurity policies, ensures compliance, automates scanning and logging, and addresses security incidents, vulnerabilities, and audit findings.
Responsibilities
- Develop different types of security tools
- Ensure IT environment domains are secure
- Address any issues, events, incidents, vulnerabilities, or weaknesses
- Implement and follow cybersecurity policies, standard pools, and best practices
- With audit findings, assist with the remediation of compliance issues and vulnerabilities that have been found via analysis
Skills
- A minimum of three (3) years of increasingly challenging work experience in the information technology field
- Additional appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis, but cannot completely substitute for these qualifications
- Training or Certification related to the work assigned to the position will be assigned credit towards substitution for experience and/or education, but cannot completely substitute for these qualifications
- Additional, appropriate paid or unpaid experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis
- Demonstrated system admin experience
- At least one professional certification to include: A+, Network+, Security+, etc. or the ability to acquire within 6 months of hire
