Job description
Summary
North Star Imaging is a global technology leader specializing in 2D digital radiography and 3D computed tomography equipment. They are seeking an early career Software Engineer to design and develop software for X-ray imaging and computed tomography applications in non-destructive testing.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and support software for use in X-ray imaging and computed tomography
- Create technical design, implementation and training documentation that describes new software functionality
- Use varied development tools including Visual Studio, GitHub, coding agents, issue and task tracking for implementation of software solutions
- Communicate new developments and findings to internal/external customers in the form of presentations, technical reports and patent applications
- Develop and support software interfaces to a variety of hardware devices: UIs, X-ray detectors, X-ray sources, optical cameras, motion components, robots
- Support new and maintaining engineering and planning
- Other duties as assigned
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering
- Proficient with C++, C# or Python
- Experience with Agile software development
- Experience with Machine Learning, tools like Claude/Cursor, PyTorch, TensorFlow
- Self-motivated and solid problem-solving abilities
- Team player - leverage existing code and teammates
- Flexible and adaptable to evolving specifications
- Customer-focused with a preference for practical solutions
- GPU programming
- 3D computer graphics with Robotics and Automated Systems
- Computer vision
- Computed tomography
