Summary
NovaWurks, Inc. is seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Software Engineer to join their creative team. The successful candidate will work on software programming for SLEGO™ modules and conformal spacecraft, contributing to the development of innovative solutions and simulation environments.
Responsibilities
- The Software Engineer will be a part of a collaborative team to help develop innovative solutions for multiple contracts and projects
- Help support NovaWurks software teams to design, develop, modify, and implement software programming for our SLEGO™ modules and conformal spacecraft
- Help create software for simulations
- Create and improve a simulation environment for testing on-orbit operations
- Utilize available software libraries to create an accurate physics environment and hardware simulation which integrates with NovaWurks’ flight software
- Create and update flight system applications and resources
- Unit/Integration/System Level testing
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science (or similar degree) OR 4 years of experience in Software Engineering
- Software development experience
- United States citizenship is required
- Proficient in Java and Python (2+ years preferred)
- Strong understanding of physics and orbital mechanics
- Software Architecture/Development Experience
- Proficiency with C/C++, Node.js, SQL, basic Android development
- Proficiency with Linux (Ubuntu/Debian)
- 2+ years Experience with physics/graphics libraries
- 2+ years Experience with VCS (git)
- “Can do” attitude in an innovative space development atmosphere
- Ownership, Initiative, and Accountability
- Flexibility in a range of responsibilities
- Ability to learn from failure
- Embrace SPI (Second Party Inspections)
- New/recent graduates will be considered if they can demonstrate exemplary capabilities and experience implementing electronics designs in school or personal projects in lieu of professional experience
