Job description

Summary

NTN Bearing Corporation is seeking an Associate Test Engineer to join their Test Lab team. The role involves managing test projects, utilizing advanced metrology equipment, and collaborating with engineers on bearing-related projects.

Responsibilities

  • Manage test projects from inception to completion. This may include determining the optimal way to achieve goals, developing a test plan, designing tooling, troubleshooting issues, collecting data, and presenting results and conclusions in detailed formal written reports
  • Utilize advanced metrology equipment to review tested bearings, confirm accuracy of developed tooling, and other purposes
  • Collaborate with engineers, metallurgists, and technicians regarding a wide range of bearing-related projects
  • Manage relationships with outside vendors and suppliers related to tooling and services
  • All other duties as assigned

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • 1-5 years' experience in a hands-on engineering role
  • Uses engineering principles to solve problems and develop appropriate action plans
  • Possess solid communication skills; both written and interpersonal
  • Collaborates with peers and supervisor for guidance. Escalates problems and roadblocks as they occur
  • Experience with 3D CAD software
  • Has strong mechanical aptitude
  • Experience doing hands on mechanical work and is comfortable utilizing a variety of tools
  • Ability to work independently on multiple simultaneous projects and drive each to formal conclusion
  • BSME preferred
  • Consideration given for internships
