Job description

Summary

NYCOM is a laboratory construction company specializing in interior construction, including laboratory furniture and equipment, specialties, and custom woodwork. The Design Engineering Technician interprets architectural and MEP drawings to create shop drawings, produce bills of materials, and support installation, while coordinating with project teams and managing project information.

Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret architectural drawings to generate shop drawings for various project types and sizes
  • Complete shop drawings in a timely manner and according to our company standards
  • Manage project information, maintain notes and documentation, and ensure questions are answered when needed using our proprietary software
  • Work competently in a deadline-driven remote environment that requires independent time management
  • Independently solve problems in close coordination with members of the project team

Skills

  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
  • Knowledge of Revit as a modeling and data management tool
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with diverse stakeholders
  • Proficient in MS Office programs
  • Bachelor's degree in interior design, architecture, construction management, and/or 3+ years of drafting experience preferred
