Summary
OpenBrand is a data-driven company focused on durable goods market intelligence, using advanced modeling, real-time pricing data, and consumer tracking surveys to help brands understand market dynamics. The Data Scientist will integrate multi-sourced data, pricing information, and survey results to generate actionable insights, while developing models, analyses, dashboards, and experimentation frameworks in collaboration with product, engineering, and business teams.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement data models that integrate multi-sourced data, real-time pricing, and consumer survey results to generate actionable insights for clients
- Cleaning and transforming large datasets
- Building and validating statistical and machine learning models
- Performing exploratory and explanatory data analysis
- Developing dashboards and visualizations to communicate findings to internal teams and external stakeholders
- Collaborating with product, engineering, and business teams to define data requirements and improve analytical products
- Contribute to experimentation frameworks, performance measurement, and ongoing refinement of methodologies to enhance the accuracy and value of OpenBrand’s market intelligence
Skills
- Strong Data Science and Data Analytics skills, including experience with machine learning techniques and analytical workflows
- Proficiency in Statistics and Data Analysis for hypothesis testing, modeling, and interpretation of complex datasets
- Ability to create clear, insightful Data Visualization using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or modern visualization libraries
- Hands-on experience with programming languages commonly used in data science (e.g., Python, R) and SQL for data querying
- Familiarity with working with large, multi-sourced datasets and cloud-based data platforms or warehouses
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate business questions into analytical approaches and measurable outcomes
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical findings to non-technical audiences
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related discipline
- Comfort working in a remote, collaborative environment and managing priorities across multiple projects
- Experience in market intelligence, pricing analytics, or consumer behavior analysis is a plus
