Assistant Engineer

Summary

OVA.Work is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Engineer to support the development and maintenance of software applications and technical systems. This role is ideal for recent graduates or professionals with up to 2 years of experience who are eager to learn and grow in a collaborative engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers in developing, testing, and maintaining applications and systems
• Support software development, debugging, and troubleshooting activities
• Participate in requirement analysis and technical discussions
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
• Perform unit testing and assist in resolving defects
• Monitor application performance and report issues
• Prepare technical documentation, reports, and implementation notes
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA, DevOps, and Product teams
• Follow coding standards, development processes, and best practices
• Continuously learn new technologies and contribute to team knowledge sharing

Skills

• Basic knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript
• Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts
• Familiarity with SQL and relational databases
• Basic understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
• Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC)
• Familiarity with Git or other version control systems
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
• 0–2 years of experience in software development or engineering support
• Strong willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies
• Good academic background and technical aptitude
• Exposure to frameworks such as Spring Boot, Django, .NET, or React
• Basic knowledge of REST APIs
• Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Knowledge of testing tools and debugging techniques
