Summary
OVA.Work is seeking a skilled NoSQL Database Engineer responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and optimizing scalable NoSQL database solutions. The role involves database architecture, performance tuning, data modeling, and ensuring high availability for distributed database environments.
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, configure, and maintain NoSQL database platforms
- Develop scalable data models based on application and business requirements
- Manage database clusters, replication, partitioning, and high-availability configurations
- Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and capacity planning
- Monitor database health, availability, resource utilization, and system performance
- Troubleshoot database issues related to latency, failures, connectivity, and data consistency
- Implement backup, restore, disaster recovery, and data migration strategies
- Ensure database security through authentication, authorization, encryption, and access controls
- Automate database operations using scripting and DevOps tools
- Collaborate with application developers, DevOps engineers, and system architects
- Support database upgrades, patches, and version migrations
- Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and best practices
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
- Strong experience with NoSQL database technologies such as: MongoDB, Apache Cassandra, Redis, Amazon DynamoDB, Couchbase, HBase
- Strong understanding of NoSQL concepts: Document databases, Key-value stores, Wide-column databases, Data modeling, Sharding and partitioning, Replication strategies, Consistency models
- Experience managing distributed database environments
- Knowledge of database performance monitoring and troubleshooting
- Strong understanding of Linux/Unix systems and shell scripting
- Experience with database security, backup, and recovery processes
- Experience with cloud database platforms: AWS DynamoDB, Amazon DocumentDB, Azure Cosmos DB, Google Cloud Bigtable
- Knowledge of container platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with infrastructure automation tools: Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes operators
- Familiarity with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge of big data technologies such as: Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, Hadoop ecosystem
- Experience with monitoring tools: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Datadog
