Interaction Designer

Summary

Perseus Group, part of Constellation Software, develops ERP products for the outdoor power equipment industry that help dealers manage their businesses and improve profitability. The company is seeking an Interaction Designer to create and optimize user experiences across Windows, web, and mobile platforms. The role includes UX research, interface design, prototyping, design system ownership, usability testing, and collaboration with development teams.

Responsibilities

• Transform complex problems into elegant experiences
• Measure usage states and optimize UI and navigation of Desktop, Web, and mobile applications
• Own and maintain a design system
• Conduct testing of sample applications to assess user experience and ease of design
• Create sketches, wireframes, specifications, prototypes, scenarios, and storyboards
• Create surveys for quantitative research to gather and distill feedback
• Participate in qualitative research, observational studies, usability testing, and customer research, remote and on-site
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure that UX research informs the design
• Advocate for the user throughout the product development lifecycle
• Stay abreast of current design methodologies, practices, and trends
• Communicate effectively conceptual ideas, detailed designs, and design approaches/rationales

Skills

• Minimum 3+ years of experience in interaction design, with a strong design portfolio
• Demonstrated grasp of usability heuristics
• Ability to write simple, clear, and concise microcopy
• Excellent visual design skills and experience with leading design tools such as Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud
• Proficiency with interface design, prototype, interaction design, wireframe, and sketching tools
• Experience in rapid design with tools like v0, Vercel, Bolt, Lovable, and Replit
• Strong understanding of web and mobile technologies - HTML 5, CSS 3, and bootstrap
• A conceptual thinker with proven problem-solving skills
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Degree in design or a design-related discipline, including industrial design, user-centered design, visual design, graphic design, design strategy, design management, human factors, psychology, anthropology, ethnography, neuroscience, human-computer interaction, etc
• Nielsen Norman Group (NN/g) certification a plus
