Job description

Summary

Pond & Company is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Engineer to join its Professional Design Services team. The role focuses on designing HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems, mentoring junior MEP professionals, supporting proposals, leading projects, and interfacing with clients across various building systems design projects.

Responsibilities

  • Take a leadership role in the design of mechanical systems, including but not limited to HVAC, plumbing, and piping
  • Mentor junior-level MEP engineering professionals, guiding them through their career development and providing technical support
  • Support proposal efforts, ensuring that design projects are clearly defined and accurately scoped
  • Work independently, managing and efficiently moving through a variety of design stages, from concept plans to construction documentation
  • Lead projects and interact with clients while maintaining a positive attitude and a high level of professionalism

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology from an accredited college or university
  • 0-2 years of related MEP design experience
  • Proficiency with relevant software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM
  • Experience mentoring and training junior-level employees
  • Experience leading projects, supporting proposal efforts, and interfacing with clients
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment with a positive attitude and a proactive approach to multi-tasking
  • Self-motivated to produce high-quality work
  • Ability and desire to continue learning and growing professionally
  • PE license is a strong plus
  • EIT certification preferred, with plans to obtain PE license in the near future
