Summary
Quantum Industrial Services is a mechanical and plumbing contractor specializing in large-scale commercial and industrial projects across multiple states. The Traveling Project Engineer supports the planning, coordination, and execution of industrial mechanical construction projects, helping manage schedules, costs, documentation, resources, safety, quality, and project closeout while traveling frequently.
Responsibilities
- Support Project Managers with daily project planning and execution
- Assist with project schedules, cost tracking, budgets, and reporting
- Maintain project documentation including RFIs, submittals, contracts, change orders, and drawings
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, engineers, clients, and field teams
- Track material procurement, deliveries, and project resources
- Monitor project progress and help identify and resolve issues
- Support quality control, safety, and project compliance
- Participate in project meetings, site walks, and coordination activities
- Assist with project closeout and lessons-learned reviews
Skills
- OSHA 30 certification required or willingness to obtain
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Understanding of construction scheduling, cost tracking, and project coordination
- Strong organization, communication, problem-solving, and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively with field and project teams
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently and work on projects across multiple states
- PPE is required on applicable job sites
- 1–3 years of experience in industrial mechanical construction, engineering, or project support preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
- Experience with Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar software is a plus
