Job description

Summary

Re:Build Manufacturing operates an advanced, end-to-end manufacturing platform supporting critical industries and the revitalization of American manufacturing. The Sr. Data Engineer contributes to scalable software design and implementation, develops maintainable features, resolves complex issues, and collaborates across product, QA, DevOps, and other teams to deliver reliable products. The role also supports automated testing, CI/CD, observability, and adoption of AI-powered engineering tools.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to software design and architecture, ensuring scalability and reliability in line with team goals
  • Develop and enhance new features, ensuring the codebase remains maintainable and efficient
  • Identify and resolve bugs while optimizing code for performance and scalability
  • Use development tools improved by artificial intelligence to accelerate delivery and support debugging, while maintaining code quality
  • Write and maintain automated tests to support reliable, repeatable releases
  • Participate in code reviews, ensuring alignment with coding standards and guidelines
  • Contribute to piloting and adopting emerging AI-powered engineering tools and workflows as part of the team's broader AI initiatives
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams, including QA, Product Management, and DevOps, to ensure smooth product development and delivery
  • Contribute to sprint planning, estimation, and user documentation
  • Adhere to guidelines with company software

Skills

  • 3+ years' experience writing software in production environments
  • Demonstrated understanding of software technologies across multiple computer languages
  • Experience with high-level languages such as C#, JavaScript, Python, SQL, etc
  • Experience with design patterns, algorithms, and other computer science fundamentals
  • Experience with various software stacks, including Web, Windows Desktop, Cloud, and IoT
  • Experience with API technologies, including REST and GraphQL
  • Experience with AWS cloud services and infrastructure, including services like Lambda, S3, and API Gateway
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code) in a professional setting
  • Experience working in Agile methodology and thriving in fast-paced development environments
  • Hands-on experience with version control (Git) and collaborative development workflows
  • Familiarity with automated testing practices (unit, integration) and CI/CD pipelines
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is required
