Summary
Rendezvous Robotics is solving the problem of spacecraft size constraints with innovative modular components. They are seeking a Manufacturing and Test Engineering Intern to develop testbeds, support spacecraft manufacturing, and enhance hardware verification processes.
Responsibilities
- Develop and own testbeds used to manufacture and test the different subsystems including power, docking, and communication interfaces
- Support manufacturing of spacecraft tiles, creating work procedures and finding optimizations
- Build and refine fixtures and test jigs for repeatable hardware verification
- Track and troubleshoot manufacturing defects, feeding findings back into design
- Help build out test data pipelines so results are captured consistently across builds
Skills
- Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
- Comfortable with hand tools, basic soldering, and hardware assembly
- Attention to detail and comfort working from written test procedures
- Experience with battery pack assembly or handling lithium-ion cells
- Familiarity with environmental test equipment (thermal chambers, vibration tables)
- Background in test automation or data logging (Python, LabVIEW, or similar)
- Quality or manufacturing process experience, even outside aerospace
