Job description

Summary

RL Canning is a global IT managed services and consultancy firm focused on enhancing the digital workplace through technology and operational excellence. The Integration Analyst will design, develop, maintain, and enhance interface programs using interface engine technology and HL7 standards, while coordinating testing, automating processes, and supporting system integration in healthcare environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain interface programs using interface engine technology in accordance with HL7 standards
  • Create detailed specification documents outlining system requirements and designs for development and maintenance
  • Coordinate and execute comprehensive test plans to ensure robustness and reliability of interface applications
  • Utilize software tools and scripts to automate processes, increasing efficiency and reducing manual workloads
  • Manage system enhancements and upgrades, ensuring they meet current and future needs
  • Confer with users to analyze system needs and gather requirements for system design
  • Define project timelines and work independently to ensure deadlines are met
  • Supervise, evaluate, and potentially train lower-level programmers and analysts
  • Evaluate hardware and software alternatives and make recommendations based on thorough analysis
  • Develop and implement change management processes with the user community and software vendors
  • Ensure all data handling and software implementations comply with relevant laws and regulations to maintain data security and privacy
  • Collaborate closely with other IT and healthcare teams to ensure systems are seamlessly integrated and aligned with broader organizational goals
  • Monitor the performance of implemented systems and interfaces, initiating improvements or upgrades as necessary to enhance functionality and user satisfaction
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system efficiency and effectiveness over time
  • Perform additional tasks as necessary to support and achieve business objectives

Skills

  • 3 to 5 years of experience programming interface engines using HL7 standards for electronic health information exchange
  • Deep understanding of HL7 standards and their application in designing, developing, and maintaining interface programs
  • Proficiency in Java programming and Oracle 9i/PL SQL
  • Familiarity with UNIX/AIX environments, which is crucial for maintaining robust applications
  • Ability to analyze system requirements and user needs to design effective solutions
  • Strong skills in identifying issues and formulating clear, effective solutions
  • Capable of determining work priorities and managing tasks independently
  • Ability to supervise and guide the work of junior programmers and analysts
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to liaise with stakeholders and explain technical details in understandable terms within a customer service environment
  • Must be able to work in Central Time Zone
  • We are not offering visa sponsorship or C2C for this position due to resource requirements
  • Familiarity with Cerner technology preferred, given its widespread use in healthcare information systems
