Summary
RTX is an aerospace and defense company, with Collins Aerospace providing advanced communication solutions for mission-critical applications. The Systems Engineer II will support requirements development, model-based systems engineering, integration, testing, and proposals for military communications systems.
Responsibilities
- Perform in a cross-functional agile team
- Work in close coordination with a mentor using Collins Aerospace engineering processes
- Creation, decomposition, and tracing requirements for communications systems on military platforms, both air and ground applications
- Work with a model-based systems engineering application to create logical and physical design diagrams
- Perform integration and testing for these communications solutions
- Support future bids and proposals providing new business opportunities
Skills
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field
- Must have an active U.S. government issued DoD Top-Secret SCI (TS/SCI) security clearance is required
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering concepts and tools such as Magic Draw Cameo, Enterprise Architect, or similar resources using SysML
- Experience with software and system requirements development
- Ability to define requirement specifications and functional requirements
- Ability to perform modeling and simulation for system analysis
- Experience with system testing and validation
- Skilled in software validation processes
- Proficiency in Linux environments
- Experience with Root Cause and Corrective Action Analysis
- Experience with the AS9100 Certification Audit process
- Familiarity with both Agile and Waterfall development methodologies
- Strong understanding of risk management practices
- Experience with document management practices
- Proficiency with Atlassian tools, including Confluence and Jira
- Strong oral communication skills
- Experience developing, decomposing, and deriving system/sub-system requirements
- Experience in system/sub-system design definition
- Familiarity with system architecture development
- Exposure to test automation frameworks or scripting
- Experience integrating requirements across multi-disciplinary teams
- Understanding of Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and related tooling
