Job description

Summary

Safeguard Law Group, PLLC is a consumer protection law firm representing consumers harassed or deceived by creditors and debt collectors. The Associate Attorney will manage a diversified caseload in Indiana, communicate with clients and opposing parties, draft legal documents and agreements, conduct legal research, and handle transactional and civil litigation matters, including potential court appearances.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and supervising a heavy & diversified caseload of the Firm’s clients in Indiana
  • Communicating with clients regarding their respective matters
  • Drafting pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, reviewing & drafting agreements, etc
  • Communicating with opposing parties to resolve/settle claims
  • Legal research related to simple and complex issues in contract law and other areas of consumer law
  • While this role is based from home, you may be required to travel for in court appearances

Skills

  • The ideal candidate is one who has experience drafting legal documents such as pleadings and legal memoranda, has strong organizational skills, and is willing to take on a heavy workload
  • Candidates should be within commutable distance or currently located in Indiana to be considered for this role
  • Must be currently admitted to practice law in Indiana
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience at a law firm
  • Must possess superior organizational & time-management skills to meet strict deadlines
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Highest ethical standards and professional integrity
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work easily with senior management and employees at all levels throughout the organization
  • Strong legal research skills -- proficiency in LexisNexis is a plus
