Summary
Science and Technology Corporation (STC) is a science, sensors, and systems company that supports various Federal and State agencies. They are seeking a Verification Engineer to support the National Weather Service by ensuring AI-generated outputs meet established system expectations and collaborating with teams to enhance verification methodologies.
Responsibilities
- Support human-level validations for Gen-AI led test-driven design processes
- Ensure AI-generated outputs consistently align with system expectations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine and validate AI-driven solutions
- Identify and report discrepancies between AI outputs and desired system behaviors
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of verification methodologies and tools
- Assist with developing and executing test cases and validation activities
- Support troubleshooting and analysis of system behaviors and validation results
- Document testing procedures, validation outcomes, and identified issues
- Participate in Agile development activities including sprint planning, reviews, and team collaboration
- Support operational weather systems utilized within the National Weather Service forecasting enterprise
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
- 2–4 years of experience in quality assurance, software testing, validation, or related technical work
- Familiarity with QA/testing methodologies and validation processes
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Experience supporting or participating in test-driven development activities
- Basic understanding of AI-assisted development or AI-generated outputs
- Experience working in Agile software development environments
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and modern development workflows
- Familiarity with issue tracking and collaboration tools such as Jira or Confluence
- Familiarity with cloud-based environments or AWS
- Experience supporting federal or mission-critical systems
Qualifications
