Summary
SGC Power is an engineering firm focused on power projects and collaborative project delivery. The Project Manager oversees the non-technical aspects of power projects, including scope, costs, schedules, communications, billing, stakeholder coordination, and closeout, ensuring projects are completed on scope, on schedule, and on budget.
Responsibilities
- Work with stakeholders, anticipating project demands and resolving issues that arise during the project life cycle
- Demonstrate personal leadership and model servant leadership for project team members. Exemplify a proactive, Total Ownership philosophy
- Work with Leadership to allocate team members for project roles that meet the scope, schedule, and budget requirements of the project
- Work collaboratively with project team members to accomplish project goals
- Scope Management – WBS, Change Orders, contract management
- Cost Management – Timecard review, invoicing, project profitability (gross margin analysis, financial status reports)
- Schedule Management – Project plans, meetings, assignments
- Communication – Client PM’s Subcontractors, Business Development
- Calls, meetings, action item follow-up
- Management reporting, project management software updating
- Cross-divisional support and project transition to other operating divisions
- Project – proposal development, project setup, contract negotiations
- Relationship Management – Clients PM’s, subcontractors, business development
- Closeout – Lessons learned, accounting invoice close-out
- Develop and maintain a professional rapport with client, project team members, and internal/external stakeholders
- Demonstrate leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skills; assist with training, development, annual appraisal, and supervision of divisional employees as applicable
- Maintain target billable goals and participate in process improvement team efforts to achieve divisional/company objectives
- Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills
- Candidates must be located within the US
- Strong understanding of formal project management methodologies
- Knowledge of computer applications and functions including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and project management software (Microsoft Project, Project Insight, etc.)
- Ability to prepare and/or maintain project plans, reports, documents, and procedures to address specific project needs
- Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally with project team, management, staff, and clients/stakeholders
- Ability to work in a team environment and efficiently direct the duties of others
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
- Ability to travel and work extended hours for project assignments, meetings or other company needs
- Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of two (2) years of project management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, or path towards certification is desired
- Electric utility, construction or power industry experience is preferred
