Summary
Shift Paradigm is an execution-led strategic consultancy that bridges enterprise strategy and technical reality for modern digital marketing. The company is seeking a Full-Stack Developer to build and maintain high-performance, composable web experiences using Adobe Edge Delivery Services, while supporting client-facing technical delivery, integrations, performance optimization, and engineering best practices.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain high-performance, edge-rendered websites and web applications using Adobe Edge Delivery Services (EDS), developing reusable, semantic, high-performance blocks and components in native JavaScript, HTML5, and modern CSS3
- Serve as a secondary point of ownership and backup for our existing EDS-based digital properties, working alongside our current developer to ensure coverage, continuity, and shared architectural decision-making
- Scaffold and configure new EDS projects on the AEM boilerplate, managing .hlx project configuration, routing/rewrites, and config.yaml
- Own page-loading performance: tune eager, lazy, and delayed loading phases (loadEager, loadLazy, loadDelayed) and programmatic auto-blocking to hit elite Core Web Vitals (LCP, INP, CLS) and Lighthouse scores
- Bridge engineering and content teams by configuring and optimizing document-based authoring workflows (Google Docs, Microsoft Word, Adobe Document Authoring)
- Manage a Git-first deployment workflow (GitHub, GitHub Actions) where code changes sync directly to the edge, and work with CDN/edge configuration (e.g., Fastly, Cloudflare), including caching and TTL strategy
- Serve as a client-facing technical resource, translating client requirements into working solutions and clearly explaining technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders
- Integrate EDS-delivered pages with the broader Adobe ecosystem where needed (AEM Assets, headless APIs) and with CRM/MarTech systems as our platform strategy requires
- Leverage AI/agentic coding tools (e.g., Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor) to plan and execute development work, from task decomposition to autonomous or semi-autonomous code generation and review
- Participate in technical discovery, estimation, and solutioning conversations with clients during project kickoff and delivery, as needed
- Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code and contribute to code reviews and engineering best practices
Skills
- 4+ years of professional full-stack development experience, including 2+ years of hands-on experience building, testing, and launching live production websites on Adobe Edge Delivery Services (EDS) - or a strong AEM background with demonstrated, fast ramp-up on EDS
- Expert-level native/vanilla JavaScript (ES6+), semantic HTML5, and modern CSS3 (custom properties, Grid/Flexbox), with sound judgment about when a heavier framework (React, Angular, Vue) is or isn't the right tool for EDS-based pages
- Proven track record optimizing for Core Web Vitals Largest Contentful Paint (LCP), Interaction to Next Paint (INP), and Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS) and Lighthouse performance
- Working proficiency in React and Next.js for building non-EDS front-end applications and internal tools
- Mastery of Git/GitHub workflows: branching, pull requests, code review, and CI automation (e.g., GitHub Actions)
- Experience with DevOps practices and tooling (CI/CD pipeline design, infrastructure-as-code, containerization, or cloud deployment) beyond basic GitHub Actions usage
- Experience with document-based authoring and document-to-HTML content workflows
- Experience with back-end development and API/integration work (REST, GraphQL, or similar)
- Proven experience working directly with clients or business stakeholders in a client-facing capacity
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-ambiguity environments with shifting priorities and evolving requirements
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, and the professional maturity to operate as a long-term, trusted member of the team
- Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of deliverables with limited day-to-day direction
- Candidates must have current US or Canada work authorization
- Experience migrating legacy AEM Sites (HTL/Sightly, OSGi, Sling Models) to a modern EDS architecture
- Hands-on experience with agentic AI development workflows - both planning multi-step technical work for AI agents to execute and directly operating agentic coding tools in production codebases
- Experience with .NET/C# for back-end services or API development
- Experience with edge/CDN configuration (e.g., Fastly, Cloudflare), including caching strategy and Edge-Side Includes (ESI)
- Experience with the broader Adobe Experience Cloud (Adobe Target, Adobe Launch / Web SDK, AEM Assets)
- Experience in a digital agency or consulting environment supporting multiple concurrent client engagements
- SEO fundamentals, Open Graph/schema configuration, and edge-side analytics implementation
- Adobe certifications
