Summary
Siemens is a global technology company focused on industry, infrastructure, transport, and healthcare. The Energy Business Advisory Intern will support consulting engagements in the energy sector through market research, data analysis, process improvement, technical issue resolution, and data visualization. The role will also develop reports, models, statistical insights, and presentations to support strategic decision-making and stakeholder communications.
Responsibilities
- Supporting consulting engagements, business process improvements, solutions to technical issues, and data management and visualization
- Focusing on the interpretation and application of power and gas data to determine relevant issues and inform strategic consultant engagements
- Delivering research, data acquisition, and analysis of energy and power markets to create reports, models, and statistical insights that support decision-making and stakeholder communications
- Presenting findings through briefings, charts, and presentations while safeguarding confidentiality, adapting to shifting priorities, and leveraging programming and analytics skills (MATLAB, SQL, Python)
Skills
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related field and approaching completion of the required educational credentials for this opportunity
- Ability to work remotely full-time (40 hours per week) for the duration of the 12-week program
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
- This internship is a structured experiential learning program for individuals currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program who will continue their studies following the assignment. Current and continuing enrollment is a condition of participation. Applicants who have completed or expect to complete their educational program before or during the assignment period are encouraged to explore our Early Career Development Program opportunities
- Familiar with MATLAB, C/C++, Java, Python or SQL programming languages
- Working knowledge of applications of Microsoft Office or Google Workspace
- Experience using collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams, Slack, or Discord
- Ability to work effectively with multinational and diverse groups and demonstrate leadership skills
- Self-starter with good time management skills and the capacity to effectively prioritize a variety of concurrent activities
- Comfortable working as part of a fully remote team, with the initiative and self-direction to work independently and collaborate effectively
