Job description

Summary

Skanska is a leading construction and project development company looking for a Project Engineering Intern. The intern will assist Project Managers and Superintendents on various projects while gaining hands-on experience in construction activities.

Responsibilities

  • Assists and supports Project Manager and Superintendent on assigned projects
  • Works under direct supervision with mentorship
  • Performs routine daily activities
  • Gathers and distributes information
  • Coordinates project activities with direct supervision from the Project and/or Operations Manager
  • Performs accounting activities with assistance
  • Performs estimating functions as requested with assistance
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills

  • Knowledge of basic phases of construction projects
  • Knowledge of mathematics functions (geometry, basic algebra)
  • Computer skills (MS Office, HCSS, CGC, etc)
  • Ability to perform all work in a timely, professional, and efficient manner while effectively communicating and interacting with customers, clients, subcontractors, and other third parties
  • Ability to present information in a clear and understandable manner in both written and verbal form
  • Working towards a bachelor's in Construction Management, Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field or equivalent through experience
  • Qualified candidates, excluding current Skanska employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States
  • Skanska does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g. H-1B status)
