Summary
South Shore Insurance Underwriters (SSIU) is a Gulf Coast–owned Managing General Agent that uses technology, underwriting expertise, and responsive service to help insurance agents find coverage for property risks. The Inspections Coordinator reviews property inspection reports, identifies discrepancies and underwriting concerns, tracks outstanding requirements, and coordinates with agents, insureds, vendors, and internal teams to ensure timely completion.
Responsibilities
- Review new business and renewal property inspection reports using established carrier guidelines
- Identify and document discrepancies, concerns, and items requiring additional review
- Track outstanding inspection requirements and follow up on missing information or documentation
- Coordinate inspection workflows and help prioritize the Inspections Processor’s workload
- Communicate with agents, insureds, and inspection vendors regarding requirements, deadlines, and next steps
- Coordinate extension requests and escalate issues that could affect carrier deadlines
- Process approved policy changes resulting from inspection findings
- Maintain accurate documentation of findings, communications, approvals, and policy changes
- Provide backup support to the Senior Inspections Coordinator and assist with team training as assigned
- Stay current on carrier requirements and help identify opportunities to improve inspection processes
