Summary
Stratolaunch is a technology accelerator that engineers operationally realistic testing at Mach 5+ to advance hypersonic technology and national security. The Systems Engineer will support expendable air-launched hypersonic vehicles through full lifecycle systems engineering, including requirements derivation, test and evaluation planning, test execution, and vehicle-level compliance verification.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to derive and document requirements
- Develop efficient and effective test and evaluation plans
- Plan and direct execution of tests for components, subsystems, and vehicles
- Track and monitor requirements compliance through the lifecycle of the program
- Work with system safety and environment health and safety teams to ensure test activities are executed in a manner which minimizes participant, environment, and hardware risk
- Participate in test design reviews, test readiness reviews, test execution, vehicle troubleshooting, and post-test data reviews
- Architect and optimize test data review and analysis methodologies and tools
- Set standards for test planning and documentation and ensure those standards are met
- Coordinate internally with multi-disciplinary team and externally with customers
- Demonstrate honesty, responsibility, and integrity in the fulfillment of commitments
Skills
- Knowledge of, and direct experience with, at least two of these disciplines: Electrical and Avionics Systems, EO/RF Seeker Systems, Energetics Systems, Propulsion Systems, Lethality Modeling, Guidance Navigation and Controls, Aerodynamics, Thermal, and Mechanical Systems
- Experience contributing to the systems engineering content for a major technical review such as System Requirements Review, Preliminary Design Review or Critical Design Review
- Familiarity with tactical missile system constraints from military launch platforms and logistics chains
- Familiarity with military standards pertinent to air launched missiles (e.g. 810, 1553, 1760,…)
- Previous systems engineering experience in a small dynamic team environment
- Experience integrating one or more missile system onto a military platform
- Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities while maintaining systems engineering rigor
- Excellent written & verbal communication
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the SECRET or above level
