Job description

Summary

Stream is a financial technology company focused on improving workers’ financial wellbeing through accessible financial services. The Analytics Engineer will own the US commercial analytics domain, modeling data in dbt, building dashboards and data applications, and partnering with stakeholders on customer ROI, product analytics, regulatory reporting, and financial integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Customer ROI Program: Partner with our US GTM and implementation teams on the data side of a new client-facing programme: define what data we ask customers for, what the minimum viable extract is, how it lands securely, and then run the repeatable analyses that show clients the impact Stream has on turnover, retention and absenteeism
  • US commercial and product analytics. Build the adoption, engagement and cohort analysis on top of our per-product usage layer, and give the commercial team a validated set of statistics they can put in front of prospects
  • Regulatory and financial reporting. Take over execution of our state regulatory reports and examiner follow-ups using the scaffolded pipeline we have built, and extend our financial integrity checks across US salary and settlement data
  • Dashboards and data apps. Build and maintain US dashboards in StreamBI, our Streamlit-based BI platform, replacing legacy Redash and Sigma reporting
  • Shared responsibilities. Around a fifth of your time goes to the things every analytics engineer here does: triaging dbt and data quality alerts, answering questions in #ask-data, reviewing PRs across our dbt and StreamBI repos, and keeping documentation current

Skills

  • Two to four years in analytics engineering, or in a data analyst role where you built and owned the models as well as the outputs
  • Strong SQL, including the discipline to reconcile numbers and prove they tie out, not just aggregate them
  • Hands-on dbt experience, and the ability to read and extend a dimensional model without breaking its grain
  • Python sufficient to build data apps in Streamlit, or a clear track record of picking up a similar framework fast
  • Experience working directly with commercial or operational stakeholders: taking an ambiguous request, redefining it, and returning something that changed a decision
  • Comfortable using agentic coding tools day to day. Claude Code is part of how this team works, not an add-on
  • Able to operate independently in your timezone, decide what an analysis should be, and push back on a stakeholder when the data does not support the ask
  • Experience producing outputs for regulators, auditors or clients where being wrong had consequences
  • Exposure to payroll, HR tech, payments or fintech data
