The Associate Network Engineer will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the firm's global enterprise network, participating in network design discussions, and implementing innovative solutions to enhance network infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshooting issues across the environment
- Finding innovative solutions to challenging problems
- Contributing in network design discussions
- Participating in solution implementations
- Helping shape the future of network monitoring and configuration management products
- Gaining exposure to a multitude of different technologies including WAN, LAN, Enterprise and Carrier Networking
- Partnering with senior engineers and technical leads to work on a wide array of projects
- Coordinating configuration changes
- Identifying root-cause analysis
- Recommending network optimizations
- Participating in firm wide projects including upgrading and implementing new hardware and software
- Gaining knowledge and hands-on experience across the infrastructure through rotations with Networking Engineers and other services teams focusing on Security, Windows, Linux, Virtual, Storage, and DevOps teams
Skills
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Networking, Engineering or a similar technical major
- Experience in LAN network support, specifically troubleshooting OSI Layer 1-3 problems – network switching experience is a plus
- Demonstrated knowledge of network hardware, local area networks, internet protocols, fiber and copper wiring standards, Ethernet, and wireless technologies
- 0-4 years of professional experience required
- Scripting and DevOps experience (Python, Ansible, Git) highly preferred
Qualifications
Must Haves
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Networking, Engineering or a similar technical major
- Experience in LAN network support, specifically troubleshooting OSI Layer 1-3 problems – network switching experience is a plus
