Job description
Summary
SYNCREON provides recruitment and staffing services across multiple industries through customized solutions and talent expertise. The Mainframe Programmer will design, develop, and deploy REST APIs using z/OS Connect, integrate APIs with CICS and other mainframe applications, troubleshoot issues, and support mainframe modernization initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy REST APIs using z/OS Connect
- Configure API mappings between mainframe applications and JSON services
- Support CICS-based API integrations and troubleshoot issues
- Collaborate with development and architecture teams on mainframe modernization initiatives
Skills
- Hands-on experience with IBM z/OS Connect Enterprise Edition and API development
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, HTTP methods, JSON payloads, and OpenAPI/Swagger specifications
- Experience integrating APIs with CICS, COBOL, Db2, and IMS applications
- Ability to understand COBOL copybooks and mainframe data structures for JSON mapping
- Knowledge of z/OS concepts including RACF/SAF security, regions, SMF, and WLM
- Experience with API testing and troubleshooting
Qualifications
Must Haves
