Summary

Responsibilities

  • Lead a medical AI research project from conception through manuscript submission, often as first author
  • Build and maintain the infrastructure powering large-scale medical imaging research, including data pipelines, annotation tools, and model deployment workflows

Skills

  • Strong fit for students and early researchers (Undergrad, Master's, PhD, Postdoc) with backgrounds in computer vision, deep learning, or medical imaging
  • Direct mentorship from Prof. Zongwei Zhou on every project
  • Training in the full research lifecycle
  • Access to a multi-institutional collaborator network
  • A credible path to first-author publications at top venues in medical AI
  • Full-time research commitment of approximately 35 to 40 hours per week
  • Participation in one weekly group meeting and two smaller project meetings
  • Positions can be in-person at Baltimore or remote, though in-person participation is encouraged
  • Strong applicants typically submit a CV alongside completed warm-up training materials demonstrating hands-on familiarity with 3D medical imaging workflows
