Summary
TruLegal is a digital forensics and expert witness consulting firm seeking a Digital Forensics Consultant to support high-profile litigation matters. The role involves the preservation, collection, and analysis of digital evidence, including forensic imaging of various devices and preparing expert reports.
Responsibilities
- Assist with forensic collections of computers, mobile devices, servers, and cloud-based data sources
- Perform onsite and remote forensic imaging using sound preservation practices
- Maintain detailed chain of custody records and evidence documentation
- Photograph, label, inventory, and securely track evidence throughout engagements
- Support forensic data processing, keyword searching, artifact analysis, and deleted data recovery
- Prepare reports, declarations, and other documentation that clearly explain technical findings
- Maintain forensic equipment and oversee secure evidence storage
- Record billable time and maintain accurate project documentation

- Comfort working with technology and learning advanced forensic techniques

- Bachelor's degree in any discipline
- Exposure to digital forensics, eDiscovery, litigation support, or evidence handling
- Experience with forensic imaging or electronic evidence preservation
- Knowledge of Relativity, litigation holds, or ESI workflows
- Familiarity with scripting, SQL, PowerShell, command line tools, or imaging utilities
- Understanding of Windows and macOS operating systems
- Interest in obtaining industry certifications such as EnCE, CCE, or GCFA
