Summary
UST is a technology and digital solutions company that partners with organizations on transformation initiatives. The company is seeking a mid-level AI Developer to build and deploy agentic and multi-agent AI systems for healthcare payer solutions, including claims, clinical data, provider operations, and Medicare Advantage. The role focuses on Python services, data pipelines, secure cloud deployment, and cross-functional delivery of production-ready AI applications.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and deploy agentic and multi-agent AI applications using AWS AgentCore, including agent orchestration, tool-calling, memory, and multi-step reasoning workflows
- Develop production-grade Python services and pipelines that integrate LLM-based agents with internal systems and healthcare payer data domains (claims, clinical, provider, Medicare Advantage)
- Build and maintain data pipelines and feature/data access layers on Databricks and Snowflake to support agentic workflows and downstream AI applications
- Implement data security, access control, PHI/PII handling, and audit-logging practices appropriate for a regulated healthcare environment (HIPAA and related compliance frameworks)
- Deploy, monitor, and operate AI services on AWS, following enterprise practices for CI/CD, observability, scalability, and cost management
- Collaborate with data engineers, ML engineers, product owners, and compliance/security stakeholders to translate business requirements into secure, production-ready agentic solutions
- Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code and contribute to internal standards and reusable components for agent development
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across the AI application stack, from agent logic and prompt/tool design to data access and infrastructure
Skills
- 2–4 years of professional software/AI development experience, including hands-on work building agentic or multi-agent AI systems (LLM orchestration, tool use, RAG, or similar)
- Practical experience with AWS AgentCore or comparable agent-orchestration frameworks, and a solid working knowledge of core AWS services (compute, storage, IAM, networking)
- Strong proficiency in Python, including experience building APIs/services and integrating with LLM frameworks and cloud SDKs
- Experience working with Databricks and/or Snowflake for data access, transformation, or pipeline development
- Understanding of data security fundamentals — encryption, access controls, secrets management, and secure data handling — and comfort operating within a regulated, compliance-driven enterprise environment
- Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals: version control, testing, code review, and CI/CD practices
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, data, product, and compliance teams
- Familiarity with the healthcare payer domain (claims, clinical data, provider data, or Medicare Advantage)
- AWS Certification (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Machine Learning, or equivalent)
- Databricks Certification (e.g., Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate/Professional or equivalent)
- Prior experience in healthcare, health insurance, or another regulated industry (financial services, government) with exposure to HIPAA, SOC 2, or similar compliance frameworks
- Experience with vector databases, RAG pipelines, or LLM evaluation/observability tooling
