Remote Security Analyst

Summary

Val's Services is seeking a Security Analyst to support the development and maintenance of a security program focused on protecting healthcare data. This role involves hands-on security operations, incident response, vulnerability management, and compliance activities.

Responsibilities

• Support incident response and investigations
• Assist vulnerability management and endpoint security monitoring
• Participate in security architecture reviews and cloud security assessments
• Contribute to compliance efforts (SOC 2, HITRUST) and security policy updates
• Help with security administration, access reviews, and security awareness
• Engage in attack surface management and third-party risk assessments

Skills

• Associates or Bachelor's in Information Security, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent self-study
• 0–2 years in security or IT roles; internship experience valued
• Understanding of security threats, vulnerabilities, and defensive tools
• Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and security frameworks (NIST, ISO, HITRUST)
• Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and eagerness to learn
• Security certifications (Security+, CySA+) preferred
