Verily's core strategy to advance precision health is by bridging the gap between research and care. Our team is responsible for Verily’s flagship consumer product, delivering warm, personalized experiences for users.</p><p></p></div><div><div><h1><b>Responsibilities</b></h1><ul><li><p>Design, implement, launch and maintain critical user-facing features in an Android app that is core to Verily’s business, with opportunities for end-to-end and cross-platform feature development.</p></li><li><p>Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and technical discussions.</p></li><li><p>Collaborate extensively across engineering teams (mobile, BE, FE) and with cross-functional teams (e.g. UX, PM, Test, QE) to deliver high quality, regulated, and impactful software.</p></li><li><p>Align with iOS engineers to ensure cross-platform consistency, and find opportunities to improve mobile developer productivity.</p></li><li><p>Work closely with Product, UX and Quality on defining requirements, designing mocks, and implementing regulatory protocols. Help all functions understand engineering tradeoffs to ensure smooth implementation across the system.</p></li></ul><p></p><h1><b>Qualifications</b></h1></div><p></p><div><p>Minimum Qualifications</p><div><ul><li><p>Strong CS fundamentals with BS Computer Science degree OR equivalent combination of experience and education.</p></li><li><p>3+ years of experience in developing Android mobile applications in an industry setting.</p></li><li><p>Strong communication and collaboration skills.</p></li><li><p>Native app development experience in Kotlin.</p></li></ul><p></p></div><p>Preferred Qualifications</p><div><ul><li><p>Knowledge of modern Android frameworks and architecture (e.g. Jetpack Compose).</p></li><li><p>Passionate about UX with a high empathy for users.</p></li><li><p>Familiarity with automated testing.</p></li><li><p>Some experience with full-stack development, including backend services and web frontends.</p></li><li><p>Enthusiasm for building high-quality, public-facing Android apps. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
