Job description

Summary

Verisign helps enable the security, stability, and resiliency of the internet. They are seeking a software automation engineer to join their ATLAS platform implementation team, where the individual will be involved in designing, implementing, and deploying new capabilities for the platform.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and implementing new capabilities for the ATLAS platform
  • Deployment using CI/CD principles
  • Producing quality code
  • Automated testing
  • Code reviews
  • Continuous integration
  • Continuous deployment
  • Interacting and working with people in a positive manner to mitigate key project technical risks and ensure quality

Skills

  • Has solid understanding of writing software in a system-level programming language (C, C++, Rust)
  • Proven foundation in Computer Science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, operating systems, object-oriented design)
  • Understanding of CI/CD concepts and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Groovy, GitHub)
  • Experience with or a strong willingness to learn infrastructure automation and platform engineering technologies such as Terraform, Ansible, Puppet and OpenStack
  • Proficient with Linux
  • Python or similar scripting language
  • Outstanding problem solving and trouble-shooting skills
  • Excellent teammate who enjoys a collaborative team environment
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in software development
  • 2+ years development in a system-level programming language
  • Working on an Agile software development team
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Familiarity with DNS at the protocol level
  • Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes
  • Exposure to behavior-driven testing frameworks such as Python Behave or Cucumber
