Job description

Summary

Veryable is transforming the manufacturing industry by providing a new way for people to find work and develop skills. They are seeking a Software Engineering intern to assist the Platform Engineering team in enhancing their platform and gaining real-world experience in a startup environment.

Responsibilities

  • Exposure to best practices in backend web development, using current technologies
  • Work in a fast-paced, team environment, solving real-world problems for manufacturing, distribution, warehousing, and industrial business environments
  • An opportunity to work with a world-class team, and gain exposure to Cloud Infrastructure Scaling, DevOps, DevSecOps, and DevEx
  • Ownership in the evolution of Veryable’s data infrastructure and data warehouse architecture to match the growing needs of customers and internal data consumers

Skills

  • Recently graduated or currently enrolled in an accredited, degree-seeking program majoring in Computer Science, Engineering, or related degree with one quarter or semester left
  • Knowledge of Javascript, TypeScript, and Node.js
  • Understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems
  • Proficiency in backend frameworks such as Spring, Django, or Express.js
  • Detail-oriented with a proven ability to take on complex problems, break them down, and drive optimal solutions
  • Eager to learn, self-starter with a desire to grow professionally all with a winning attitude
  • Able to work in-office at our headquarters in Downtown Dallas
  • Understanding of cloud infrastructure, networking, security, and monitoring on AWS, GCP, or Azure platforms
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline, or Circle CI
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience working with database management services such as Amazon RDS, DynamoDB, Aurora, and RedShift
  • Understanding of data architecture, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts
