Junior Java Developer (Remote Opportunity)

Summary

VetsEZ is seeking an Entry-Level Java Developer for a 100% remote position on a large federal government project. This role offers early-career developers the chance to gain hands-on experience in full-stack application development while collaborating with experienced teams on modernization and digital transformation initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Support the design, development, and implementation of full-stack applications under the guidance of senior developers
• Contribute to building high-quality software solutions that deliver value, usability, and reliability for clients
• Collaborate with development teams, architects, and Agile coaches to support modernization and transformation initiatives
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, and deployment
• Assist with troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving technical issues
• Engage in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives
• Work on client-facing projects involving IT modernization, cloud adoption, and digital transformation
• Contribute to team objectives and take on additional responsibilities as needed

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field
• Strong understanding of fundamental computer science concepts
• Experience with at least one programming language such as Java, C#/.NET, Python, JavaScript, or PHP
• Basic knowledge of full-stack development concepts and modern web technologies
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop efficient solutions
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment across all levels of an organization
• The candidate must reside within the continental US
• Familiarity with front-end frameworks such as React or Angular
• Experience with Node.js or JavaScript MVC frameworks (e.g., AngularJS, Backbone)
• Exposure to Agile development methodologies
• Interest in cloud technologies and modern software development practices
