Job description

Summary

Vicor is a company focused on the design and development of advanced power conversion products. They are seeking an Associate Design Engineer to assist in the design and development of DC/DC converter and AC/DC system products, engaging in the complete product development cycle from conception to production.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and development of state of the art DC/DC converter and/or AC/DC system products using proprietary technology
  • Design elements include electrical design, component selection, simulation/test, PCB layout, and product functional specification
  • Be part of an engineering team involved with the complete product development cycle: product conception through manufacturing production
  • Assist in the generation of the full documentation package for all products designed
  • Interface with and provide routine support to internal organizations and external customers

Skills

  • BSEE with 0 - 2 years of power electronics design experience
  • Strong bench skills
  • Demonstrated analytical skills
  • Ability to be self-motivated and detail oriented
  • Excellent team and individual contributor skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and understand technical materials and concepts
  • Previous CO-OP or Internship experience- highly desired
  • Knowledge of high frequency switching power supply topologies, and control architectures a plus
