Summer 2027 Actuarial Intern

Summary

The Summer 2027 Actuarial Intern will support actuarial work by performing mathematical and clerical tasks, compiling and categorizing data, and contributing to assigned projects involving insurance, pricing, reserves, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Perform actuarial tasks which are of a mathematical and/or higher clerical nature
• Compile and categorize data, documenting and verifying factors used in computations, such as those used in evaluating loss and expense reserves, preparing rate filings, schedules of statistics, financial statements, premiums, benefits and establishing rating and pricing levels
• Other duties and projects as assigned

Skills

• Undergraduate or Graduate students with an anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or later with a degree based in a field such as Data Analytics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Risk Management or Computer Science and a GPA of 3.2 or above
• Technical experience with any of the following platforms is a plus: Microsoft Excel and Visual Basic, Microsoft Access and SQL, or Python
• Knowledge of finance, insurance industry, investment, or actuarial fields
• Understanding of insurance products and operations
• Detail oriented with strong analytical problem-solving skills
