Summary
Wiley|Wilson is a 100% employee-owned architecture and engineering firm serving government, institutional, and private-sector clients. The Technology Systems Project Designer will design telecommunications, structured cabling, audio/visual, and electronic security systems, develop Revit models and construction documents, and coordinate designs with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and project stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Design telecommunications networks, structured cabling systems, audio/visual systems, and electronic security systems for a variety of projects
- Develop and coordinate Revit models and construction documents
- Collaborate with senior Technology Systems staff to deliver quality designs and develop technical expertise
- Attend client and project meetings to coordinate items related to project scope and design. Approximate travel requirement 10%-15%
- Coordinate Technology Systems designs with other engineering and architectural disciplines
- Ensure work is completed in accordance with project quality standards, schedules, and budgets
Skills
- Candidates must have 3-7 years of experience designing telecommunications networks, structured cabling systems, audio/visual systems, and electronic security systems for vertical building projects
- Experience in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry is required
- Must be proficient in Autodesk Revit, including model setup, linking, navigation, and producing Technology Systems designs from project initiation through completion
- Strong time management and organizational skills are essential, along with the ability to manage multiple assignments and work effectively in a collaborative team environment
- Proficient with MS Office suite of products
- Candidates must demonstrate excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a positive, proactive approach to problem solving and professional development
- Must work effectively with Technology Systems team members, other design disciplines, subconsultants, and clients
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- Must be eligible to obtain a security clearance
- An Associate's degree or higher in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with federal government projects
- BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification or a desire to obtain the certification as part of professional development
- AVIXA CTS certification or a desire to obtain the certification as part of professional development
