Summary
WiSys is a nonprofit organization that supports Wisconsin researchers, innovators, and entrepreneurs by advancing university research and commercializing discoveries. The Innovation Student Intern will assist with intellectual property and licensing tasks, market research, grant-funding research, event and program management, and preparation of presentation materials.
Responsibilities
- Assist with various IP and licensing related tasks
- Conduct market research and analysis on selected innovations
- Assist with management and tracking of events and programs
- Production of materials for internal and public presentation
- Assist with finding grant funding for researchers
- Additional opportunities to collaboration with the WiSys team
Skills
- We are seeking a student intern to start as soon as possible during this academic year
- The intern should be able to work 10 - 12 hours per week, between Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. and 5 p.m
- This position may be done remotely or from our offices in Madison, Wisconsin
- Interested candidates should be a current student majoring in the STEM disciplines, social sciences, and/or business and possess some of the following skills:
- Familiarity with and interest in university research
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Teams
- Excellent communications skills
- Skilled in working both independently and in cooperation with others
- Ability to organize, manage and prioritize multiple, competing tasks
- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
