The Field Quality Engineer will support the Field Quality Team. The Quality Engineer will develop, document, and implement troubleshooting and investigatory methods for Zoox vehicle components. This position will foster strong cross-functional partnerships to improve Zoox products and the customer experience. The Engineer will use their technical background to perform failure analysis on vehicles and at the bench, record their findings, and communicate critical information to the cross-functional team.
In This Role, You Will:
Develop and document troubleshooting test methods with cross-functional teams to root cause failed componentsCoordinate with the BaseOps team on field service campaignsDesign review and feedback to respective design teamsSpecify and source new equipment for failure analysisWork with the Reliability Team to identify and communicate trends within ZooxCreate/update quality documentationPerform RCAs, drive investigations and product/process improvementsTravel to service locations to review field failures (10-25% travel)Qualifications
B.S. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related discipline4+ years experience in automotive, EV, or aerospaceAbility to read technical drawings, GD&T and navigate CAD modelsBroad technical background with mechanical and electrical systems, experience with chassis, thermal or powertrain systems would be highly desired.Strong failure analysis abilities and poke-yoke Experience performing root cause analysis on electrical and mechanical systemsAbility to effectively communicate investigation findings and technical informationBonus Qualifications
