Job description

Summary

ABEC is a company focused on designing cutting-edge bioprocess equipment for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors. The Mechanical Designer will create custom equipment and collaborate with various departments to ensure precision-engineered solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design custom stainless steel process equipment using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD
  • Create 3D models, fabrication drawings, piping layouts, and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Project Management, and Quality from concept through production
  • Interpret customer specifications and transform them into precision-engineered solutions
  • Support manufacturing, participate in design reviews, and drive continuous improvement

Skills

  • Associate degree in CAD/Drafting or equivalent experience
  • Experience with 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor preferred)
  • Strong mechanical drafting skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • A passion for learning, problem-solving, and creating innovative solutions
  • AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor experience
  • ERP/BOM/ECN experience (Syteline preferred)
  • ASME/BPE knowledge
  • Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience
