Summary
Acuity Inc. is an industrial technology company that develops lighting, intelligent spaces, building management, and related technology solutions. The Specialist Software Engineering BUILD Leadership Program is a two-year rotational opportunity for early-career talent to gain hands-on experience across software engineering functions, including development, DevOps, cloud software, SRE, quality assurance, and test automation.
Responsibilities
- Software Engineering Specialists rotate within functional areas, combining individual interests with current business needs to explore areas including:
- Software Development:
- Front-end (React or Similar)
- Back-end (C#, node.js, etc)
- Embedded (C++, etc)
- Dev-Ops & SRE (pipelines, containers and Services, observation)
- DevOps (CI/CD)
- Cloud Software , SRE
- Software Quality Assurance or Test Automation
Skills
- A Bachelor of Science or a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science or a related degree is required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
- Demonstrated problem-solving and time-management skills are required
- Availability to travel based on business needs (up to 20%) is required
- Leadership experience influencing change, people, and processes is highly preferred
- Team-oriented with a drive to take the initiative is highly preferred
- Less than two years of related work experience is highly preferred
