Summary
Acxiom is hiring a part-time Data Scientist Intern for its Automotive team in Conway, Arkansas. The intern will use data science, statistical modeling, data visualization, and audience development techniques to support data-driven storytelling, build and optimize models, and transition projects into production systems.
Responsibilities
- Leverage education and experience in data visualization to support data-driven storytelling initiatives across the tower focusing on GM as a first priority
- Leverage Acxiom’s data and data available through established partnerships with brands like Equifax, Polk and Commerce Signals to develop opportunities for creating high-value audiences and other models
- Help coordinate and prepare for activities designed to build, test and perfect data solution
- Apply algorithms relying on knowledge of statistical modeling to improve the performance/quality of existing products
- Build, evaluate and optimize models
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand business and insight goals
- Collaborate with other data scientists and team leads to define requirements including data sources, patterns, and implementation
- Work with the account team to transition development projects to production systems

- The Auto team seeks an intern working toward a master's degree in business administration (MBA) or similar graduate degree
- As part of their studies, ideal candidates should be focused on marketing analytics, data science and visualization, business analysis and (but not limited to) statistics and market research
- 20-25 hours/week work dedication during the semester and up to 40/week during breaks and summer
- Anticipated graduation date between December 2027 - May 2028
- Currently pursuing a Bachelors or Masters in Business, Coursework in a quantitative field (Data Science, Statistics, Math) or related degree programs
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
- Basic to moderate SQL experience to model and identify patterns
- Familiarity with data platforms, analytics and visualization solutions like Google Cloud Platform, Google Analytics, Tableau and Looker is also preferred
- Experience with applying statistics and data science tools on datasets
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, etc
- Ability to read and understand java logs and xml to identify issues
- Ability to leverage critical data-driven thinking and enthusiasm for translating data into actionable insight to generate consistently accurate and useful analysis and models
- Balances desire for quantitative rigor with realities of inconsistent business data
- Attention to detail and time management delivering high quality work for multiple projects across several engagements while meeting deadlines
- Coursework in a quantitative field (Data Science, Statistics, Math) or related degree programs
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software is a plus
