Job description

Summary

A.E. Perkins is seeking an Accounting Operations Processor to support its Accounting Operations team. The role handles accounts payable and receivable, bank lockbox processing, exception funding, HSA and COBRA transactions, stop payment entries, and process improvement projects.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with ticketing queues, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and collection processes to ensure financial accuracy and efficiency (Intermediate)
  • Manage bank lockbox processing activities, ensuring timely and accurate application of funds (Intermediate)
  • Handle exception funding processes, identifying discrepancies and ensuring proper resolutions (Intermediate)
  • Oversee Health Savings Account (H.S.A.) transactions, maintaining compliance with regulations and internal policies (Intermediate)
  • Oversee COBRA payments and mail/email, maintaining compliance with regulations and internal policies (Intermediate)
  • Execute stop payment entries as needed, ensuring proper documentation and communication (Beginner)
  • Collaborate with the Director of Accounting Operations on special projects and contribute to process improvement initiatives (Intermediate)

Skills

  • Solid understanding of core products, including FSA, HRA, COBRA, and H.S.A. (Intermediate)
  • Ability to read and comprehend financial ledgers, with a fundamental understanding of banking operations and processes (Intermediate)
  • Proficient in navigating banking websites and using various financial systems (Intermediate)
  • Comfortable communicating effectively with internal departments and external entities through email, phone, and video (Intermediate)
  • Ability to troubleshoot financial discrepancies and work collaboratively to find solutions (Intermediate)
  • High attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and consistency in all accounting tasks (Advanced)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with a Third-Party Administrator (TPA) is required
  • Minimum of an Associate's degree in a related field is required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
